Who is Benjamin Moore?
In 1883, Benjamin and his brother Robert opened Moore Brothers in Brooklyn, New York with only $2,000 and one product. With their "Moore's Prepared Calsom Finish" and the idea to sell only through independent retailers, they laid the foundation for future growth.
Today, Benjamin Moore & Co. is an innovative manufacturer and retailer of quality coatings. It sells the finest paints, stains, and finishes through a network of more than 5,000 independent retailers across North America. Benjamin Moore's innovation has earned many accolades including consecutive #1 rankings in Customer Satisfaction. It also has the distinct honor of being featured on my newly painted walls. An achievement not to be taken lightly!
Making color selection a breeze
In 1982, Benjamin Moore introduced their Computer Color Matching System. It allowed designers to match the color of any sample that clients have, expanding color choice way beyond color chips.
In 2015, Benjamin Moore continued to advance the color selection process with it's x-Rite Color Capsure, a hand-held device that matches colors with precision. A handy tool when you know what color you want, but don't have the time to peruse walls of color samples.
Key to Successful Paint Selection:
Research
Talk with your designer about color options for your space. Search for color ideas in magazines or online. Get samples of potential colors in a range of similar shades.
Hands On
Place color samples against the surface to be painted to visualize how the finished paint might look. Be sure to do this at various times of the day as the change in lighting will give the colors a different feel.
Communication
Be sure to check in with your designer and express your thoughts and preferences. If you are hiring painters, make sure to discuss your standards and a timeline for completing the project.
Humor
Keep a positive attitude! Color can be fun and full of surprises!
