Who is Ann Sacks ?
One day, while out shopping for a Mexican wedding dress, a tile aficionado named Ann Sacks discovers a box of tiles being sold as trivets. Inspired, she goes home to Portland, OR, to start a company and, in 1980, Ann Sacks is born. By the late 1980's, Ann Sacks adds architectural surfacing materials, including limestone, marble and granite. In 1989, Ann Sacks joins the extended KOHLER family. Both companies share the vision of product design as a pure expression of lifestyle. After 3 decades of steady growth, Ann Sacks has two international showrooms in London and Vancouver. There are more than 17 Ann Sacks showrooms in the United States - each one quietly enhancing their reputation as a world leader in the tile industry.
Ann Sacks: Portland, Oregon
A invitation came my way from Ted Chappell, president of Ann Sacks, to attend a weekend get away in Portland. We were invited to see the inner workings of this great company. Along with 10 other architects and designers from as far away as Vancouver, BC and around the USA, we met, dined and discussed the world of design.
