Who is Ferguson?

Ferguson Enterprises Inc., headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, it is the largest plumbing wholesaler in North America. This includes all plumbing fixtures, appliances and quality lighting fixtures for the entire homeFounded in 1953 by Charlie Ferguson, Ralph Lenz and Johnny Smithers. In 1982, the company was acquired by Wolseley plc but retained the name Ferguson Enterprises. Today, Ferguson has sales of $10.6 billion and approximately 19,000 associates in 1,350 service centers. They serve customers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Caribbean. Now that is a lot of service "power"!

How does a Georgia "Peach"  get her start in the "Big Apple"? Well, way back in 2012, when Ferguson took the plunge and expanded into theNYC market, Mary, already a star on the home front, came to train the NY staff in the "Ferguson" method.  She knew, right away that NYC was going to be in her future. Sure enough,  in 2013, her wish was granted andshe became a NYshowroom consultant.

  • Mary has a design degree from the University of Georgia with a specialty in kitchens and baths. Her unique background gives her clientele a wider range of design possibilities.
  • Mary acts as a warm and friendly guide in what can be an intimidating industry. Knowledgeable and a great problem solver, she knows how to get the job done!
  • With good ideas and excellent follow-through…Mary has many satisfied clients and repeat customers (including me)

The Keys to Successful Plumbing Selection

Research- get to know the endless possibilities with plumbing by visiting a Ferguson showroom (they are in all 50 states) and review design magazines and begin a clipping file of ideas.

Hands On- visit showrooms with your designer/architect to experience the various plumbing fixtures first hand.

Communication- ask lots of questions andretain a designer/architectthat you feel understands your goals and vision ....someone who can creatively problem solve is a must.

Humor- keep a positive attitude despite the numerous mishaps andchallenges and always remember to enjoy a few laughs along the way.
