Lutron is a leader in the lighting control industry. It was founded in 1959 by Joel Spira, a physicist and inventor, working in his spare time out of his own small Riverside Drive apartment in good ole' New York City.

  • Still a family-run business today, Lutron holds over 2,700 patents, worldwide.

    The Keys to Successful Lighting Controls

    Research- get to know the myriad of lighting control products/systems that are available and then develop good drawings and a strategic plan based on your needs.

    Hands On- visit showrooms with your designer/architect to experience the various controls first hand.

    Communication- ask lots of questions and only retain a designer/architect that you feel understands your goals and vision ....someone who can creatively problem solve is a must.

    Humor-keep a positive attitude despite the mishaps and learning curve challenges and always remember to enjoy a few laughs along the way.
